52nd Annual World Championship Dainty Contest

Join SACC as we present the 52nd Annual World Championship Dainty Contest and Dainty Fest!

On Saturday, we're kicking off a weekend celebrating Dainty with a Dainty fundraiser at The Merryweather featuring bands, drink specials, games, raffles, and more!

On Sunday, folks can enjoy a day full of fun at Hauck's Corner for Open Hauck's. You'll even be able to visit the Dainty Museum! Schedule of events and activities coming soon.

On the last Monday in July, crowds will gather on George Hauck Way for the 52nd year to see who will be crowned the 2022 Dainty Champion.

Monday's event will feature the classic Dainty Contest, food trucks (+ bologna sandwiches!), and a beer garden. SACC will be selling shirts, koozies, and Dainty prints, tees, magnets, and stickers! Proceeds help SACC fund community projects.

NEW THIS YEAR: DAINTY BATTING CAGE! Get your chance to play Dainty during the Dainty Fest in our brand new batting cage, brought to you by Brewgrass Homebrew Supply. Anyone over the age of 45 will be restricted from participating in the batting cage on Monday.

This will be the biggest Dainty yet!

Monday's Schedule:

5:00 - Opening Prayer & National Anthem sung by Sylvia Walters

5:15 - Dignitaries play

5:30 - Open competition begins & Boom Pah Pah (German band plays)

8:00 - Band/dj starts

Dainty Rules:

- Must be 45 or older to play

-You cannot sign up prior to the event; playing order is determined on a first-come basis

-You get three "strikes" and you are out. One strike = any contact of the bat with the dainty

-Person to hit the dainty the furthest within bounds will be crowned the winner, given eternal glory, and receive a trophy + prize

-The individual who hits the dainty the shortest distance will receive the traditional basket of lemons

As always, player donations will be given to the Little Sisters of the Poor.

More information about Dainty can be found on SACC's website: https://www.schnitzelburg.org/dainty
