Don't forget the Schnitzelburg Area Community Council is holding the first General Neighborhood Meeting of 2017 on Monday, February 27th! We would love for you to join our neighborly conversation as we share with you what SACC has in store for 2017 and projects on our horizon!

Please note: We have moved locations from the All Wool & Yard Wide Club to the cafeteria at St. E's. We hope this change better accommodates the larger turnouts we have been having at our meetings!

Can't make this one? Mark you calendar for our next meeting on Monday, April 24th.

Whether you live in Schnitzelburg, or you are a neighbor in spirit, we hope to see you at the February meeting!

Also, there are a few tree giveaways coming up that we wanted to share so you can bring a little green to Schnitzelburg!

TREE SEEDLING GIVEAWAY sponsored by Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District. In an effort to promote Kentucky’s Arbor Day and support Mayor Fischer’s tree planting initiative in Louisville Metro, the Jefferson County SWCD is providing bare-root tree seedlings FREE-OF-CHARGE and just in time for the spring planting season! The species available are Eastern Redbud and Roughleaf Dogwood; quantities are available to the first who reply and/or until our supply is exhausted. Because of our limited supply, we ask that you limit your request to 60 seedlings or less. If you would like to plan an Arbor Day event with your students by planting seedlings on the school campus or for the students to take home and plant in their backyards, simply reply or send a request to Your request should include: total number of seedlings, which species, your name and school. The trees will be individually packaged and available to pick up at our office on March 20 and 21 between the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

As the weather gets a little warmer, graffiti becomes a bit more of a problem. Here is a tip sheet from Louisville Downtown Partnership on how to remove graffiti if you get "tagged."

Lastly, if you see a pothole, you can report it simply be tweeting!

Hope to see you on the 27th!
