MEETING TONIGHT + The #1 Citizen + District 10 Newsletter

No, you aren't crazy.  Yes, we did just have a meeting.  But tonight will be our final general meeting of 2013 at 7 PM at St. E's cafeteria.  This is known as the SACC Annual Meeting where we will vote for new board members (SACC household and business members - your vote counts!) and do an end of the year wrap-up.  We will also be doing the raffle for the fleur-de-lis book ends and recycling cart the benefit the SACC Scholarship Fund.  We'll keep the meeting simple, informative and fun.  As usual, come hungry - we'll have plenty of Italian food to feast on (Danny Mac's Crack Stix, anyone?!).

Have you seen our brand-spankin' new long sleeve t-shirts?  We will have them for sale at the meeting.  You can get one for $15 or two for $25.

The #1 Citizen Dinner was nearly 2 weeks ago.  Where has the time gone?

Congrats to Don Haag - 2013 #1 Citizen!  You may know Don from growing up in Schnitzelburg or you may have had the pleasure of meeting him on one of the History Walks (Don is the wonderfully knowledgeable tour guide).  Here is what Don had to say in an email to the SACC after winning the award:

On Thursday night, Nov. 14, I was named Schnitzelburg #1 Citizen. I want to let everyone in Schnitzelburg know how very honored I was to receive this award/title. I know I join a very elite group of Schnitzelburgers who have been given this honor over the past 48 years; these are people I have respected and admired all my life. A big THANKS and much appreciation to everyone who resides in this wonderful community. Many blessings to all of you.

Congratulations, Don!  We couldn't imagine a more deserving #1 Citizen!

Also, last week the District 10 Newsletter was delivered to mailboxes all over Councilman King's district.  Highlights include a Movie Night in Emerson Park wrap-up, mention of the Booker building (Goss Avenue Antique Mall) renovations, and a shout-out to the new Germantown Little League playground.  Lots of cool things going on in District 10 and we thank Jim King and his staff for everything they do.
