May Newsletter & More!

The May SACC Newsletter is here!

We had an action packed April with Shakespeare in the Park, the Germantown Baseball Parade, the Spring Beer Walk, the Shelby Street Brightside Cleanup, the April SACC Neighborhood meeting and much more! We are excited about another event filled month!

Flying Out Loud

Flying Out Loud will be on May 7th at Sunergos.  This reading will be held on the first Monday of the month rather than the usual second Monday. This will be the last reading of this season before starting up again in September.
The Schnitzelburg Farmers Market opening day is Saturday, May 12th at the AmVets Post 9 (15567 S. Shelby Street). It's a new location, so check it out! Opening day will have the same great vendors, as well as goat yoga!

The Schnitzelburg Lawn and Garden Swap will also be on May 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the All Wool and A Yard Wide Democratic Club at 1328 Hickory Street.
Bring any extra gardening/lawn tools, plants, planters, lawn decorations, etc. and swap your old stuff with new stuff from your neighbors! This is a FREE swap -- absolutely NO items will be allowed to be sold.
There will be 20 free tree seedlings compliments of the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District up for grabs. Have your pick from persimmon, yellow poplar, bur oak, or white pine seedlings.
Love Louisville Trees

If you were a treecipient during last Fall's tree planting (or the one prior to that) you will need to water your tree from May through September . Fill your tree water bag at least one a week in the first year, twice a month in the second year, and once a month in the third year.

Click here for more information on caring for your tree.

Finally, the SACC wishes everyone a happy and safe Derby! Go, baby, go!
