March Newsletter & More!

Spring is just around the corner and you'll notice from the newsletter that things are really starting to pick-up in Schnitzelburg!

February 26th was the first General Neighborhood Meeting of 2018.

Neighbors gathered at St. E's to discuss happenings in the neighborhood, as well as hear from some interesting local businesses and organizations.

If you weren’t at the SACC meeting tonight, here’s what you missed:
  • Walking sticks from Idlewild Butterfly Farm and tips on making a healthy garden full of bugs
  • Learning about the wide array of services offered by the Volunteers of America and what their Shelby Street location is up to
  • Richard Becker for State Representative and Lisa for Kentucky House introduce themselves as State Representative candidates for the 35th District (don’t forget to vote on May 22nd!)
  • Hearing about the new Schnitzelburg Historical Society
  • Update on Shakespeare in the Park (Mid Summer Night Dream!)
  •  Sharing why we all Schnitzelburg!
If you missed our last meeting, don't worry! Come hangout with your neighbors again at the next SACC meeting on Monday, April 23rd at St. E's.

There will be a Shelby Street Clean-up on Saturday, March 24th. Neighbors are invited to meet at Art Sanctuary at 9 am for breakfast before heading out onto Shelby Street to pick-up litter and debris. Shelby Street is one of Schnitzelburg's most travelled streets, so let's show up so we can put the neighborhood's best foot forward!

By the way, the Business Special is during the month of March is from Metro 1 Heating and Cooling: Any vet in the 40217 or 40205 zip code gets a FREE cleaning and check of AC or heater! Non-vets get a cleaning and check for only 59.95! That's an $85 value!
