January Newsletter and Notes



SACC hopes you have had a wonderful 2017 so far and continue to have happiness all the days through! We are excited to start the new year with a few new board members, some exciting projects and events on the horizon, and plenty of neighborly fun!




The SACC January Newsletter is out now! Check it out for upcoming events, learn about the unique history of 1100 Lydia Street, try out a delicious new recipe from new board member Andrea Reigling, scoop up a deal from new board member Kim Curran - owner of Massage: Healing for Everyone, and more!




Germantown Baseball Inc. will be having early in-person sign-ups this upcoming Saturday, January 14th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Germantown Baseball (1537 Poplar Level Road).

Regular in-person sign-ups are February 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and February 5 2 to 5 p.m. Online registration starts January 1st.





Center For Neighborhoods is happy to announce the 30th Anniversary Class of Neighborhood Institute!
The Neighborhood Institute is a leadership education program designed to equip neighborhood leaders with skills and resources needed to initiate positive change in the community through their neighborhood, homeowner, and condo associations. 
Classes meet every Thursday, 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Center For Neighborhoods Offices (507 South Third Street) for 12 consecutive weeks (January 26 – April 13), followed by a Graduation Celebration. Dinner is provided each week. There is no charge to attend, but space is limited, and advance registration is required. Applications will be accepted through January 13. 
The Neighborhood Institute Spring 2017 is open to all neighborhoods, Metro Council Districts, and the whole community. District 10 residents are encouraged to apply.

  1. This year will be the time of great discoveres and adventures. At least, I hope so, because previous one was really boring.
