November Newsletter + #1 Citizen Dinner!

Happy November!

It's the beginning of the month, which means a new SACC Newsletter!! Check out the November Membership Deal from the Schnitzelburg Barber Shop, read about the history of the Goss Avenue building The Post occupies (and discover more in this awesome August 2015 article about The Post), and mark your calendars for fun events, such as The #1 Citizen Dinner (see below), the November General Neighborhood Meeting, and Light Up Schnitzelburg!

Also, big shout out to Rock the Plate who catered October's General Neighborhood Meeting. THANK YOU! It was so delicious!!

The 51st Annual Schnitzelburg #1 Citizen Dinner is Thursday, November 10th at St. Elizabeth’s cafeteria (1016 E. Burnett Ave.)! This time honored tradition recognizes a member of the community for their service to Schnitzelburg.

For the past 50 years, this award has been given to a variety of citizens who have left their mark and served Schnitzelburg in a variety of ways. Click here for the list of former #1 Citizens.

Join us for a traditional German-style dinner and celebrate our community’s past, present, and future! During the evening, you'll have the chance to meet neighbors, mingle with past #1 Citizens, and shake the hand (and congratulate) local dignitaries! It’s an evening of fun with door prizes donated by local businesses, a 50/50 drawing, and an auction that benefits the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Who will be the 2016 recipient? You’ll just have to attend the dinner and see for yourself!

Doors open at 5:30pm; dinner at 6pm.

Tickets are $10 each, available at Hauck’s Handy Store on Goss Ave., or at the door on the night of the dinner.

Be sure to visit the Facebook event page for the #1 Citizen Dinner and share with your friends!
