Insider Louisville published the following story today about a new music venue, called New Vintage, opening in the old Uncle Pleasant's spot (the departure of Uncle Pleasant's was news to us!). It will be a great addition to Preston Street where other great local businesses have planted their roots, such as Greenhaus, The Lima Bean Boutique, Zanzabar, and Nord's Bakery.
Earlier this month we told you about a new music venue in the works from music promoter Hunter Embry and engineer Dave Chale. On Wednesday, May 29 New Vintage will celebrate its grand opening by kicking off a “12 Days of Music” event with headliner Spirit Animal.
For the first twelve days the new music venue will be open, their schedule will be packed with some of the hottest local and regional bands including The Pass, Discount Guns and Whiskey Bent Valley Boys.
The New Vintage, named after a music showcase that Hunter Embry has been booking for the past couple of years, will open in the old Uncle Pleasant’s space at 2126 S. Preston Street. The 300-capacity venue will also eventually feature bar and grill and will be open from 4 p.m. until 4 a.m., daily. The bar will have 20 beers on tap with a focus on local craft brews.
Dave Chale is New Vintage’s engineer. Embry says, “Dave is why New Vintage shows sound so good.” His obvious influence extends to the venue’s website. While the website has minimal information about the venue in general, it has a detailed page on the venue's technical specifications.
Here’s the schedule for the “12 Days of Music”:
